About Me

That's me looking pretty snazzy and neon!Hello there! My name is Leila Fouda. I am 30 years old and a marine biologist and conservation scientist. I am lucky enough to be able to travel to far flung and beautiful places for my job and I love it. I did my undergraduate degree in marine biology at the University of St Andrews and my masters degree in conservation science as Imperial College London. In September 2017 I started my PhD as part of the London NERC Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) in Cohort Four. Though this programme I have developed a PhD project with Dr. Christophe Eizaguirre and Dr. Gail Schofield at Queen Mary University of London to investigate at the feeding ecology and population dynamics of loggerhead sea turtles entitled: “Linking Feeding Ecology and Population Dynamics in Sea Turtles: From Genes to Ecosystems”.

I love what I do and hope to be able to share that love and my life as a marine biologist with you. Sharing both the joys and struggles as I start out in this most magnificent of careers.
